BJB, thanks for your comment! I can't speak for all party-goers, but I like tweeting from events. Not only does it share information about the party with my social community, but it's also a great way for me to remember details for months to come. Tweets and updates also help the event planners with suggestions for future events, and I like having my opinions heard.

In terms of foursquare, I would suggest taking a look at their help page if you need more info. Tips, specials and prize incentives are great ways to get your attendees checking in and sharing thoughts about your venue with their foursquare community. It's all about creating buzz around your event!

I´m sorry, but that sounds like the most tedious party ever. And who the hell tweets from a party?

And what the hell does this mean:

Setup FourSquare specials and tips at the event. Reward checkins with exclusive prizes, and challenge attendees to oust the mayor. Shout things like “don’t miss the photobooth” or “meet me in Margararitaville and we’ll toast to cheeseburgers in paradise."
